MARTINEZ, Calif. -- A Contra Costa County jury has found Scott Dyleski guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Pamela Vitale.
It took the jury four days to make its decision following the three-week trial in Contra Costa County Superior Court.

The verdict was read at 4:26 p.m., convicting the Lafayette teen of a violation of Penal Code 187, murder in the first degree with special circumstance. Dyleski, 17, also was found guilty on a residential burglary charge.

When the verdict was read, Dyleski looked down and closed his eyes. Dyleski's attorney Ellen Leonida placed her arm around his shoulder.
